I've been thinking a lot about the way that young people today behave and the differences from when I was a teenager and when my parents were teenagers. Mostly I am always wondering why it's gotten so bad and generally lamenting the total disintegration of society (heavy stuff huh).
There are lots of seemingly obvious reasons such as accessibility of technology and all the horrors that opens up, plus the loss of stay at home mums and the general breakdown of the family unit through high divorce rates.
It made me start thinking about whether due to the fact that people are having kids later and later kids are not having as much influence from their grandparents. Grandparents are so important for kids and vice versa. I wonder whether in the next couple of generations nobody will have grandparents?? I mean if everyone waits till they're 35 to 40 to reproduce - you do the maths.

THIS IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT ISSUE.IN MY OPINION THE ARRIVAL OF GRANDCHILDREN IS SUCH AN EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCE.WITNESSING THE CHILD YOU HAVE RAISED BECOME A PARENT IS SUCH A PRIVILEGE AND HAVING THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE WITH YOUR CHILD ALL THE JOY {AND THE PAIN]OF RAISING THE LIFE THAT THEY HAVE CREATED IS SO AMAZING. MOST OF ALL JUST WHEN YOU THINK YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED EVERY KIND OF LOVE..WHAM BANG!!!! THE LOVE FOR A GRANDCHILD IS SOMETHING SO HARD TO EXPLAIN AND THE LOVE THAT IS RETURNED FROM THESE SPECIAL ADDITIONS TO THE FAMILY MAKE LIFE SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING. SO WHILE MANY PEOPLE MIGHT NOT EXPERIENCE
ReplyDeleteGRANDPARENTHOOD UNTIL THEY ARE OLDER THAN MY PARENTS GENERATION
AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED ICANT WAIT TO ADD TO MY GRANDKIDS LIST THE MORE THE MERRIER AND NOTHING WILL MAKE ME HAPPIER THAN WHEN I HOLD KIRSTY AND ROBBIES BABY.
