Happy New Year

Get ready for a record long post folks. Wow what a couple of weeks we've had - hope you've all been having a wonderful time because we certainly have. Rob finished up work on Christmas Eve for a month of holidays so we have been having full on family time.

Christmas was hectic but so much fun. We started the day with a Beggs family breakfast at our place. Before everyone arrived Rob and I were woken as always about 6.30 by our child yelling at us across the hall to come and get him. Rob had desperately wanted to leave Noah's stocking in the cot with him but we compromised on a couple of books for him to discover. So when we went in we put the stocking in and he had a ball exploring the treasure within. His big present from Santa was play equipment in the backyard so we saved that to show him once everyone arrived. It was such a hit he took one look at it threw his head back, arms in the air and let out a scream of happiness. We captured it all on video and it's just priceless.

After breakfast Rob went for his traditional beach run with his dad and Noah had a much needed rest.

Lunch was at Mum and Dad's which Holly had done a beautiful job of including a decorated table that looked like something from a magazine.

The big De Roach gathering was at Mal and John's for a beautiful seafood dinner. Another huge round of present opening first though and Noah and his cousin Finn were absolutely spoilt rotten. Rob and I also got some wonderful gifts including massage vouchers, Rotto Ferry vouchers and passes for AQWA.

Boxing Day was a big extended family gathering at Mum and Dad's with lots of Aunts and Uncles and cousins.

With all the holiday festivities over for a few days we packed up to head over and house sit for 4 days at our friends house on Flora Terrace just a stone's throw from The Wild Fig and our favourite beach. Our time there was so relaxing with a daily routine of takeway coffees and mornings on the beach then home for Noah's nap while Rob and I had lunch and read books or watched movies (I've already churned through 3 books and need to head to the library today for a new one). In the afternoons we went on bike rides, played in the park and just chilled out.

New Years day we moved back home and we've still been going to the beach most mornings plus we've been to Whiteman Park, AQWA, taken a trip to Mandurah via bike and train, been to see Leyton at The Hopman Cup and Rob and I had a day to ourselves shopping and seeing Avatar. This Friday we're off to Margaret River to see John Butler at Leeuwin and stay 4 nights in a spa apartment. Can't believe how nice it is to 'holiday' at home for a change - the time seems to last so much longer as well.
