January Bliss

Noah and I are on holidays at our beach house. I just wanted to say that and see what it would feel like to be those people who really do have a beach house they escape to when their day to day life being rich gets oh so hard to take!!!! We are staying at our borrowed beach house which is really the everyday home of a lovely family I work for. They have gone to Penang for 12 days and we are living in their house on Flora Terrace, Waterman one street from the beach right behind my favourite cafe - The Wild Fig. We are having the most wonderful time and are spending our days walking along the coast, lazing at the beach and generally relaxing. Unfortunately Rob is no longer on holidays but he is staying here also and we are making the most of the weekends and the lovely early morning walks and swims before work.

I wrote this post a couple of days ago and it wouldn't upload. Since then Noah has come down with an awful cold. His nose is running like a tap and his eyes are just streaming and so red. Poor little guy and poor mummy and daddy - he literally did not sleep at all last night. Fingers crossed it won't last too long.

24 weeks

Noah is 24 weeks old today. I stopped counting in weeks when we hit about the 3 month mark but someone asked me how many weeks and I didn't know the answer so I thought I'd check it out. Almost 6 months old - it's amazing.

He's changing literally daily, he has so many little quirks that keep us entertained. He never stays still and at the moment we're back to waking up several times a night to a screaming baby that has rolled onto his belly and can't get back.

We're giving him breakfast and dinner almost every day now and he is tolerating it. I wouldn't say he loves it or hates it - he seems completely indifferent. I'm sure before we know it he'll be eating us out of house and home though.

My little Elvis

Noah likes to pelvic thrust. He does it all day long - sitting in his pram or laying on the floor he's thrusting away. It's making it very hard to change nappies, dress him, feed him, hold him and most of all put him to sleep. He's a back arching thrusting maniac.

Happy New Year

Can you believe that almost a week of the new year has gone already? We saw the New Year in with a very relaxed evening at home with friends - absolutely perfect. Hope you all enjoyed a peaceful festive season too. Now it's time to get back to real life and start thinking about how I want this year to go and to make some changes in order to achieve it. Now I know this may seem like new years resolution territory but it's not - it's just a plan for the future. Rob and I have come up with a word to sum up what we want to achieve this year and that is Discipline. We want to be more disciplined in how we live many aspects of our life. Health, Exercise, Finances, Relaxation etc. We've kicked things off with a 5 day detox of which we are at day 2. 5 days of raw vegetables a small amount of protein and no caffeine, sugar, carbs or alcohol. At the moment we both feel nauseous and have headaches but we've done this before and it does improve.

I feel that I am a good person and a good friend and I'm very generous with my time for other people and I still want to be like that but I also want to do a better job of taking care of myself. Maybe even say NO every now and then and put myself first.

I hope you are all striving to improve your lives this year and that you are successful. May 2009 be filled with health and bounty for us all.
